About Lawrence V. White
Lawrence V. White (bassist, music director/arranger/producer) is a connoisseur and lover of all types of music. It doesn't matter the form or genre--he has an appreciation for them all.
He started playing drums at 5 years old in a small church where his grandfather was pastor. He also credits his father and aunt for providing him with other critical introductions to R&B/Soul, Funk, Jazz, and Rock.
Throughout grade school his parents saw the gift and decided to invest into getting him piano lessons and also urging him to play saxophone. He also attempted to play any other instruments he could put his hands on: guitar, flute, trumpet, and organ (to name a few). It wasn't until his freshman year in high school that he finally figured out what he was hearing all along--the bass guitar. Connecting with the right instrument ignited the passion that was already there since a little boy to want to perform and record.
After graduating high school and attending college, he started playing for some of the local college gospel choirs (Wesleyan University, Central & Eastern CT State University, and the University of Hartford) as well as community choirs and top 40 bands.
While still learning along the way, he made some great contacts which opened doors for him to play with and/or record with artist such as: DMC, Sugar Blue, Troy Oliver, Tony Dofat, Sonix the Mad Scientist, Emmany, Ru Williams, Klokwize, Donavan Henry, George Colon, Jean Sandoval, Sandoval Band, Jessica Reese, Heather DePaolo, James Chappell III, Janae Smith, Alika Hope and The Ray of Hope Project, David Davis, 5 Moments, Scott Waters, Luna & the Lost Souls, The Adventures of Thaddeus Black, TangSauce and many more. Currently he has played on over 100 recordings from various artists and genres available on digital music platforms around the world.
He is currently recording his second EP. In 2021, he release his first all original EP--Sunday At About 130BPM and a single cover 3 songs from some of his favorite artist called Run For Cover Episode 1. You’ll also find other singles available—"Say Something (feat. Ashlee Jones, Doron Monk Flake, and Klokwize), "Snowed In with You (feat. Aleyah Morgan)", “V.I.J.D.”, “Cry For Justice (feat. Bishop Samuel White, Rev. Loraine DeBeatham, & State Rep. Brandon L. McGee)” and “A Little More Hope” on every digital music platform.
He still maintains his foundation in his faith, playing bass on every Sunday morning.
